SEEK Ltd head and co-founder Paul Bassat has announced he will stand down in June next year, with co-founder Andrew Bassat to take over as sole chief executive of the online employment and education company.
The outgoing head said that while he remains passionate about the business and its team, he has “come to the conclusion that it will be hard for me to show the level of enthusiasm for the job itself over the next few years as is required to perform to the best of my ability.”
Paul plans to rejoin the board in 2012 as a non-executive director after a 12-month absence, Seek said, and will continue as a long-term shareholder.
Describing the Melbourne-based company as one of the world’s most “exciting” businesses, Mr Bassat said Seek would continue to prospect under Andrew’s leadership.
