3 Bad Days At The Office.

Meet Jenny.

She’s quit her job.

She’s ratted out her boss to everyone else in the office.

She did it with whiteboards.

Her pictures have gone viral.

I laughed and laughed when I saw them. Everyone else that I know that saw them laughed too.

Check them out for yourself (but only if you want a good laugh).

Jenny comes hot on the heels of this McDonalds customer who, suffering McNugget rage, threw a whopping tantrum when told she couldn’t get her beloved chicken nuggets at a McDonald’s in Toledo, Ohio.

All because the restaurant was serving breakfast.

So engulfed by fury was she, that she clobbered the staff.

You can see in the video, she leans through the window, whacks one hapless employee then another, before smashing the drive-through window with a bottle before fleeing the scene.

Melodi Dushane was sentenced to 60 days in jail and ordered to pay for the broken window.

And her footage was chucked on the Internet for good measure.

And no post would be complete without a mention of Steven Slater, the airline steward that’s become a hero after having a seriously bad day at the office.

I’d never heard of JetBlue before this guy parachutes off, a couple of beers in hand, having had a fisticuffs with a badly-behaved passenger.

Good promotion for the airline, despite its stated official position as a p-d off employer.

UPDATE: Jenny is an actress from LA so she didn’t quit spectacularly as the world thought HOWEVER she did deliver a load of laughs.

Viral Marketing – 6 Dumb Things That Kill Viral

Here is  NOT definitive list of really DUMB things you can do to kill your VIRAL campaign before it even goes viral but feel free to add to the list through the comments.

1. Get caught flogging.

A flog is a fake blog.

You know, the sort where your company (or your agency) buys the domain name, trots it out there into cyberspace where they pretend not to be you but someone else entirely while, at the same time, ramming your brand  (err, I mean doing nice strategic product placement whilst espousing lots of positive brand messages) down everybody’s throat.

WHY IT’S STUPID.

Because any halfwit with an Internet connection can check ownership details at Whois.

McDonalds – Should They Sue Or Shut Up?

So there’s this story in The Australian about a fake memo that has been doing the rounds of the Internet claiming McDonald’s stores deliberately rip off customers.

The Australian says that it has been revealed to be the work of the same prankster behind an infamous email about a seven-legged spider (which is very funny if you haven’t seen it.)

The document, mocked-up with an official McDonald’s Australia letterhead and signed by fictitious managing director “Robert Trugabe”, outlines a secret plan to save money by leaving items out of drive-through orders.

“If the girls leave one item out of every second or third order, this adds up to several thousand dollars per week revenue,” it says.

“We need to work out if there is a way of making this a procedure without making it documented.”

The memo became a viral hit, and has prompted to the company issuing a front page alert on its website that denounces the fake memo as an “email scam”.

Who’s Big? Fred Is.

Who's big? Fred FigglehornWho is the biggest star of them all?

Zac Efron, Selena Gomez? Miley Cyrus?

Fred Figglehorn.

Heard of him? Nah, I thought not.

Just goes to show that anyone can be a celebrity – as long as they have a camera, gumption and imagination on the Internet.

So 15 year old Lucas Cruikchank plays Fred Figglehorn (either he’s sucking in the helium or speeding up tape playback) – and the tweeny-boppers love him. So much so, he just nailed a Teen Award.
